There are times when I am referring to some stranger that I’ve seen and I’ll say “old woman” and then I think, Oh, she’s probably younger than I am.

Ha! I do that all the time. I can’t decide what it means that I think of myself as not so old, but see others as old? I’m sure it isn’t a good thing, maybe a little self-centered perhaps?
Well I know I’m considered a young whipper-snapper but I have to admit some days it’s a shock when you look in the mirror and think… wow, what happened to that 21 year old’s face/body? Okay, maybe I don’t feel 21 but I still am much the same with a bit of maturity and fewer impulsive mistakes added into the mix. The essence of my spirit remains the same though and I just never feel as old as i really am.
Then I am brought back to reality with the knowledge that my mother never experienced this age. Sobering.
