Okay, I’m not too sure about the model name, but Newfie told me to go for it. My last phone, which has grown weary, was an Instinct. Maybe there is nothing in a name, but perhaps the Conquer will put steel in my backbone when I fight my way through customer service menus.
I got a phone for calls, sending quick pictures, the occasional text and the GPS. I don’t need 3-D – I really, really don’t.
This model is so new there are no customer reviews but the preliminary reviewers didn’t find an immediate issue . . . and, of course, Sprint has the 30-day exchange policy.
So, soon, a software update will come down to my new phone and I will be ready to talk. Not that some people are happy about that.
Well, there ya go. I like the name the Conquer too. That alone might have swayed me. But I really don’t like cell-phones for a number of reasons. I kind of miss the days when a phone call was an event. You’d sit down with a cup of coffee or a Tab dial the number and have a relaxing conversation, catching up on things. I don’t miss party lines though, everyone really knew your business then.
I sometimes wonder how we ever made decisions without cell phones. You know, should I buy the steak or the pork for dinner? Now a call is made to DH to help me make this monstrous decision. Anyway, good luck with your new phone. Too bad it doesn’t mow lawns too.
Oh, I remember Tab – Do they still make it? Thinking of it makes me feel as if I’m in my 20’s again.
I was really grateful for the development of cell phones because my mother no longer fretted about “something” happening when I was en route. Well, she probably had the underlying fret but at least she was kept up to date on delays. And I like the GPS – I found out how helpful it could be when we went to Memphis to get Shane last year.
I wonder, though, how unsettled younger people would feel if, suddenly, they were no longer able to be so ‘connected’.
As for the mowing . . . well, have you ever noticed how no one bothers you when you’re mowing?
LOL that is so true. You get a lot of vitamin D too, which is supposed to be good for us. I don’t know if they still make Tab, but wasn’t it wonderful? Diet Pepsi and Diet Coke never came close. I think they still make Fresca, but I wasn’t a big fan back in the day.
Ah, Fresca. Live the grapefruitiness of it.
Ummmmm love, although live is an acceptable substitute
