We had more snow than I thought

Cameron shoveled the entire driveway – and ours goes to the right around a tree and then left toward the garage. And then he shoveled the walk for the postman. I looked at the cuts at the edge of the path and saw he had shoveled a foot of snow. A lot of linear feet of a vertical foot. So we took the car out for a spin – oops, unfortunate choice of words – and traveled around town on the plowed but snow-packed roads.

Just think, we had a blizzard and my driveway was shoveled the next day and I didn’t have to touch a shovel. Woo-Hoo.

  1. You didn’t get snowed in, and didn’t lose power….

Today I had a pipe freeze and break (the ONE pipe I missed when insulating) which meant hours out there in my long johns and wools sock (covered with the proper clothing of course) working to get it fixed before dark (success) and I lost power several times. Rolling blackouts because you know in TX we do things big but we just don’t know how to prepare ahead of time for them. Sheesh….. give me back Iowa, at least they knew what to do when it got cold there.

Snow expected tomorrow. I should be excited. I have to admit as I watched my six foot philodendron wilt from freeze I was not. The orange tree is protected but the palm tree is on it’s own.
