What you don’t expect

Last night I woke up to what sounded like a dog breathing rapidly, urgently and in a near-death way. I steeled myself to face the situation and then realized the ceiling fan was making the sound. Sydney was sleeping peacefully right underneath it. Just one of those living in the moment episodes. Personally, I would have rather smelled roses.

  1. I’m home!

I will be telling tales on my blog (uploading photos now) in the days to come but I realized that I really enjoyed one thing…. no American news. No news at all in fact. I was oblivious to it all, to any tensions, to any talking heads blathering on about the most inane things like they were important. What was important was whether the water was flowing that day so we could flush the toilet….. that was trauma enough. I may just have to go on a news/politics/external world fast since it was so nice.

Read a few of the posts I missed. I think the Christianity you leave on the doorstep should stay right there, it’s the stuff you take with you that counts…. the rest is all fluff and show and doesn’t mean much. That which is deep inside is real.
