A video from YouTube: But right now, at 9:38 am, my computer tells me it can’t find the server at YouTube. Now, at 10:20 am it is back up and presenting, as before: Noodlehead.
Mother’s Day at the Peanut Butter Cafe & Roadhouse
This is just a clarification of our policy here at the PBC&R: We do not do anything special for Mother’s Day because we firmly believe that the relationship between mothers and children is something year round and lifelong- a personal relationship. One forged through daily interaction. It is what it is and we just don’t put much stock in “quasi-official obligatory acknowledgment”.
We understand others feel differently about this subject; we just feel this way – the way we described above.
We remember the scent of sunshine on blond hair, of special books and special blankies. We remember favorite movies and multiplication tables on the refrigerator. We remember so very much . . . and we hope you guys remember that we have loved you.
Carville and Matalin
After watching the YouTube video that featured Mickey Kantor, James Carville and that George guy with the really long last name, I watched a longer video showing more of The War Room . . . and saw a lot more of Carville. I think he looks like a snake, but that is a visual perception of mine and I don’t really KNOW that he is one. He married Mary Matalin, you know, who has worked with the GOP on the really national level. And she married him. Go figure.
I have wondered about this for a long time; they both indicate their political beliefs are important to them. Yet, they married and have children. So what have they said by their actions: It doesn’t really matter? It will all come out in the wash? What will it matter two hundred years from now? Gee, what was a controversy in politics between 150 and 200 years ago? Ah, yes, the Union, the Confederacy, Slavery.
We are determining our nation’s future here – yet one works hard to carve one path and the other pulls hard down another trail. Do they look at the workers in each party and go “heeheeheeheeheeheeheehee”? I can’t see that they actually believe it makes a difference or they would be concerned for their children.
Oh, they are selling a home in Virginia for four plus million so they can move to New Orleans, from whence he hails. Apparently, this “He said; she said” stuff pays pretty well.
Bill Clinton – Kendallville, Indiana
Oh, be still, my heart. It is on the front page of the local paper: Bill Clinton will be in Kendallville this Saturday. Actually, I agree with the late David Brinkley.
***
In the New York Times online obituary there is this paragraph:
In his final election night program, in 1996, Mr. Brinkley delivered some parting shots, calling President Clinton a bore and telling voters they could expect more ”goddamned nonsense” for the next four years.
There appear to be many people who believe Mr. Brinkley did not say “bore” but “boor”.

I have been alerted in the comments section to a youtube video that shows Clinton staffer Mickey Kantor giving a negative opinion of Indiana citizens. The link to the video is HERE. Make of it what you will. UPDATE: Youtube has just pulled the video (1:07 pm). I watched it several times and definitely believe Kantor referred to Hoosiers by saying, “These people are s –t.”

The former president is scheduled to be at the Drake Road Fire Station at 10:45 am – according to THIS SITE, it’s at 10:15 am. People are asked to park at Sunset Park and walk to the station. Maps below are from Google, clicking on them will enlarge and provide a zoom feature. Sunset Park is just off Morton Street on the other side of the road from the fire station.
Photos:
The is the fire station on Drake Road.
And below is the street map.
And here is the view of the fire station from the corner of Drake and Morton. (See my side mirror in the lower corner of the picture?)

Sydney does not like peas
Outside . . . raking and pruning . . . tea, please
I took my rake and went out to the north side of the porch – where are the shrubs are overgrowning. The sun came out and I was far enough away from the north wall that it hit me and I started to get hot. And then I started sweating. I think I worked for an hour pruning more branches and raking the leaves from under them. Once I overfilled the tarp and, you know, it’s a long way to the curb when you’re inching along. I just could not bear the thought of taking some of the branches off.
Sydney supervised from a cozy little spot deep inside one shrub; it did get a little dangerous when I was using the rake to snatch errant white plastic grocery bags and came close to grabbing a white blob that turned out to be fur.
He likes it out there . . . and it is a good time to think with no one being around to bother you. After awhile though, those thoughts are more along the line of heat and sweat and thirst. The humidity was 48% I think. Another thing I think is that I stepped into the droppings of the very large dog that lives next door. Rats!
So, now I am inside that porch, sitting on my trademark sofa, barefeet propped up on the little table and there is peach papaya Lipton Tea in my glass – with ice. Yes!
Sydney is supervising me from a sprawled out position on the floor. He likes it in here too.
NaPoo replies
Ah, fortnights. Yes, it is my kind of thing – there will be many hot nights in the old fort . . . hahahaahhahahahaha. Oh, would that be hot knights? hahahahahahahahahah. Sorry, just a little counting coup humor, there.
Flip flops at school
I don’t have to weigh in on the topic of flip flop “shoes” and school; I just feel like doing so. I don’t like the idea of kids wearing them, but then I don’t care for flip flops personally. One reason is that they “flip” and they “flop” audibly. Another reason is that some people while sitting down, cross one leg over the other and by rhythmically moving the suspended foot, “flip” and “flop” though a sustained period of time.
I also feel as if I have naked feet when I put on flip flops – which is why I have not owned a pair. Sitting in a classroom, I would be disconcerted by the thought of “nakee” feet around me.
My husband took up with flip flops in California and my younger son has also worn them. I don’t understand what they see in them, but then I am often left in the dark when things are afoot. (I’m sorry, Der Bingle, I could not resist the pun.)
MB bid at $412,000
58 300SL ROADSTER Silver Blue/Burgandy, Black soft top
And it comes with matching luggage . . .
Please let this be a mistake . . . I can’t think of any car being worth this amount of money. A nice knock-off would be okay, though.
An extra thought: Yes, yes, I see there are a lot of cars that cost a lot more. I just think it’s ridiculous and if someone gave me a billion dollars, I just wouldn’t buy it . . . Go ahead, Bill Gates, test me on that statement. Even a quarter of a billion . . .
Saying so long to the little green car – 1976 MB 300D
Well, I went down to Vorderman’s to pay for the last bit of work on the little green car before they discovered the brakes would require more money than I could justify spending on what my husband called “little greenie”. They are checking to see if someone wants it for parts . . . or not. The engine is great, the body, problems. Maybe I should take the hood ornament if it goes to the scrap yard. Well, we’ll see . . .
Here are some pictures of the last of greenie and of the drive back from Fort Wayne.
