Doolittle Raiders

Roosevelt announced on a radio broadcast that the bombers had taken off from Shangri-La; actually they had come from an aircraft carrier. They were young men then. This week four of them sat in front of their pictures from those days and signed autographs.

  1. Oh how wonderful to have been able to talk with some of these men. It is good to see that some in our nation still honor what was good, what was right. Wish I’d been there.

  2. Hah! I just watched Pearl Harbor on TV. Cheesy romance movie but when it came to Doolittle’s gang I had to pull up these photos again and determined….. these men looked a more the part than the Hollywood pretty guys they had…. 😉
