Mother’s Day at the Peanut Butter Cafe & Roadhouse

This is just a clarification of our policy here at the PBC&R: We do not do anything special for Mother’s Day because we firmly believe that the relationship between mothers and children is something year round and lifelong- a personal relationship. One forged through daily interaction. It is what it is and we just don’t put much stock in “quasi-official obligatory acknowledgment”.

We understand others feel differently about this subject; we just feel this way – the way we described above.

We remember the scent of sunshine on blond hair, of special books and special blankies.  We remember  favorite movies and  multiplication tables on the refrigerator. We remember so very much . . . and we hope you guys remember that we have loved you.

Carville and Matalin

After watching the YouTube video that featured Mickey Kantor, James Carville  and that George guy with the really long last name, I watched a longer video showing more of The War Room . . . and saw a lot more of Carville.  I think he looks like a snake, but that is a visual perception of mine and I don’t really KNOW that he is one. He married Mary Matalin, you know, who has worked with the GOP on the really national level. And she married him. Go figure.

I have wondered about this for a long time; they both indicate their political beliefs are important to them. Yet, they married and have children. So what have they said by their actions: It doesn’t really matter? It will all come out in the wash? What will it matter two hundred years from now? Gee, what was a controversy in politics between 150 and 200 years ago? Ah, yes, the Union, the Confederacy, Slavery.

We are determining our nation’s future here – yet one works hard to carve one path and  the other pulls hard down another trail. Do they look at the workers in each party and go “heeheeheeheeheeheeheehee”? I can’t see that they actually believe it makes a difference or they would be concerned for their children.

Oh, they are selling a home in Virginia for four plus million so they can move to New Orleans, from whence he hails. Apparently, this “He said; she said” stuff pays pretty well.
